5 Tips on Shooting at Night with Android

Zatinet - Shooting a scene or an object at night with an Android smartphone is not an easy matter. Not infrequently, the images obtained are not maximal due to lack of lighting or camera specifications do not support.

To get around that, sometimes they use flash as a solution to overcome ill-advised lighting. Though the use of flash is also not necessarily the best solution. In fact the use of an improper flash will make the image is not satisfactory.

Tips Taking Pictures At Night With Android Smartphone

1. HDR mode

You can enable High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode. This mode combines three exposures so that the brightest and darkest corners can be seen clearly. You can determine the best distance and angle so that the result is not too dark.

To activate it, you just press the "Mode" option, then click "HDR". On some Android smartphones, HDR mode instantly appears when opening the camera. Unfortunately, the size of HDR photo files is relatively larger than the normal photo file size.

2. Self-Timer

Using a self-timer at night or even during the day is a good idea. Not only does it help determine the best angle, but it also avoids blurry photos. It's better to use a 5 or 10 second rewind time. This time is considered best suited to find a position without making you wait too long.

3. Pro mode

When you press the "Mode" option in the camera, you will find the "Pro" option. In this mode you can adjust the lighting manually. If you understand the basic concepts of photography, use this mode to produce better photos at night.

4. Increase the ISO

ISO is the sensitivity level of the camera's sensor to light. The higher the ISO, the brighter the photographs will be. Vice versa. If the smartphone allows to set the ISO, you can set it to 400 to get a brighter picture without the help of flash.

But do not forget, if too little light around the object, the result photo looks spotted and broken. Conversely, if too much light, the result will be over-exposure.

If you've upgraded the ISO but it still looks blurry, you can still activate the "Anti-Shake" mode and HDR. Turn off both of these features and the photo will look normal.

5. Use the Light Around

If you have trouble taking photos at night, use existing light sources such as streetlights, car lights, bicycles, or anything that allows your picture to be exposed to light.
